Ru-Jun has discovered a new veggie that she likes – corn (from frozen). It’s more of a starch than a veggie, but it’s progress.
aquarium update April 22, 2013
We have a bit of a high ammonia issue and we have lost a couple of goldfish. We now have two goldfish (Creamy and Chocolate Chip) and two guppies (Apple and Lemon). And today we got a Gold Dojo Loach (an algae eater that should do well in colder water and supposedly can survive high ammonia) who Ru-Jun has named Sprinkle. We also added pink gravel today.
The Easter Egg Hunt went well. April 21, 2013
A good time was had by about a dozen kids, a few older siblings and their parents.
Also, noted this Easter season: foil packaging methodology for small chocolate eggs has greatly improved. There is an extra little flap of foil that makes it possible to remove the entire wrapping in one action instead of picking it away in many little pieces.
Calm before the storm April 20, 2013
Shian-Ren and Rita made cupcakes today (Ru-Jun did the sprinkles) and Ru-Jun and Luana loaded up the Easter eggs. Ru-Jun and I went to the store to get some stuff. So other than some neatening around the house and setting up tomorrow morning, we are just about set. Festivities begin at noon…
Long but OK day April 19, 2013
Everything turned out fine today. Got Ru-Jun to day care by 8:10 – she was the first kid there. She kind of liked this and was not too grumpy to get up. Tomorrow we have to get ready for the Easter egg hung on Sunday. Turns out, after waiting because Easter was so cold, it is still only going to be 50ish on Sunday. Spring is taking its time getting here this year…
Busy day tomorrow April 18, 2013
Starting early with a guest lecture a 9AM. I’ll have to get Ru-Jun to day care by 8, which we haven’t done in a long long time. We’ll see how it goes.
Real bedtimes April 17, 2013
Ru-Jun not uncommonly expresses the urge to go to bed at a proper time (e.g. tonight; at about 9:20 she did her bedtime stuff and I tucked her in, but it is 9:45 and she is running around up there, not bedded down). Hopefully when she is a school kid she will be exhausted enough to actually fall asleep at the right time. We are nowhere near that at the moment…
